ABOUT ME

I have been working with children and families in Lewisham for 27 years since 1993.

My career started out as a Nursery Nurse and I worked my way into management in 1997 at The Woodpecker Day Nursery in Deptford. I then became the Centre Leader at Kilmorie Children’s Centre in 2003 for 9 years before opening my own company in 2013. Working as the Centre leader first ignited my passion for working with women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.

Since I opened my own company I have worked across Lewisham, Greenwich, Southwark and Redbridge boroughs delivering interventions including, Triple P, Teen Triple P, Escape the Trap, The Freedom Programme and The Children Overcoming Domestic Abuse Programme (CODA), which is a therapeutic intervention for children and their mothers who have experienced domestic abuse. In my capacity as a consultant I have advised and effected great change within the communities I have worked.

I am the Chair of the Lewisham VAWG Forum and I have supported the implementation of Operation Encompass in Lewisham.

I am the Director of The Positive Parenting Company and a National Domestic Abuse Consultant. I am also an Associate Consultant and Trainer for Children Overcoming Domestic Abuse Programme (CODA) on behalf of the National Charity AVA (Against Violence and Abuse).

I have supported Early Years Alliance and Lewisham Council in their successful bid for Home Office Funding in 2018 for Children Affected by Domestic Abuse (CADA). I also deliver Local Children's Safegurding Partnership training for Lewisham and Bromley.

I am passionate about the work I do and have developed my skills in this field with frontline delivery and extensive training to be able to specifically support organisations to effect change in the long term. My work focuses on recovery and prevention as this is often under resourced and can create a ‘revolving door’ back into services. I truly believe a long term sustainable package of support in recovery can make effective long term changes for families
